A site that can be used to post classifieds into newpapers "at NO extra cost".
Not too many dotcoms in India offering such a service and...
- Classifieds are still pretty popular, but its been quite messy to post a classified ad (consider preparing a DD and mailing it over with ad text...); e-commerce is evolving, this is surely the way to go
- Apart from the easy payment gateway, think about the possibility of comparing offers across newspapers, and (though a bit complicated, still) pushing in sales of newspaper adverts through the channel as well
- Maybe a few magazines would also like their Ad space sold through the medium
Ad revenue funds the entire print (for now lets exclude other forms) media industry. Suppose the sales of these adverts are consolidated across a spectrum of offerings through a single platform, and this platform takes up 4-5% of the market share
the revenue model's sketchy...but it seems quite credible to me that they'd pull this off!
